Channing's Hair At The Globes Was... Interesting

by Eliza Florendo

The star of Magic Mike has had quite the week on social media. First, his lip sync with Beyoncé blew up every news source. And now, Channing Tatum at the 2016 Golden Globes is garnering some serious Twitter attention, thanks to his new haircut he debuted next to his wife, Jenna Dewan Tatum. Problem is, it wasn't exactly the nicest feedback, with people comparing Tatum's new look to the Creepy Thin Man on Charlie's Angels.

Usually, Tatum is praised for his dapper looks on the red carpet, often gaining him a spot on the best dressed lists, including his look at last year's Golden Globes. This comes as no surprise to anyone because hello, look at him. But this year, he's gaining some... alternative attention. While the men of the red carpet usually walk on by, with some standout tuxes in velvets or fun colors, Tatum did not go by unnoticed.

I'm sure by now, you've seen the masterpiece that is Charlie's Angels. There, Drew, Cameron, and Lucy encountered the mysterious Creepy Thin Man, who had a pretty insatiable need to rip people's hair out. But perhaps his most iconic quality was his hair: A deep side part, and shine that only special effects can add.

And now, Tatum is being compared to this man, causing some serious uproar on the Internet. His deep side part and little stray piece falling on his face is pretty reminiscent of the look, though. News sources and Tweeters alike all had to ask...What was going on with this hair?

As it turns out, the 'do is for his role in the movie Gambit, but yikes — looks like the World Wide Web isn't quite receptive to his new hair change. Harsh much? You're still the perfect gentleman to us, Channing! As Kevin G says in Mean Girls, "Don't let the haters stop you from doing your thang."
