11 Of The Most Fascinating Celeb Quotes About Sex

by Maitri Suhas

Celebrities are always getting asked about their personal lives, and much of those questions revolve around DOING IT. On some level, most of us want to know how the other half lives, which includes how they have sex. Probably becasue we know in our heart of hearts that we will never get to do the deed with any of our famous crushes, so it's comforting at least to know that RiRi is getting the kind of sex she deserves. Some of the most fascinating things celebrities have said about their sex lives are pretty revealing, and range from the very ordinary (they're kind of just like us, on this one thing!), and the more out-there.

Maybe I'm old-fashioned, but I can't imagine airing out my bedroom secrets in the public eye. But I am glad to know that celebrities are willing to share, which probably encourages their fans who might feel shame or something else just as complicated about their sex lives. You'd be surprised to find out when certain celebrities lost their virginity, and who really loves their sex toys. Here are some of the most fascinating things celebs have said about sex.

1. Nick Cannon Is Nick Cannon

More evidence this couple was a match made in an alternate weird universe: Nick Cannon told Howard Stern (appropriate) that he and ex-wife Mariah Carey used to have sex to the soundtrack of her music, and that he would also masturbate to her song "Hero" when she wasn't around, which isn't even her sexiest song. This is fascinating to me in that it reveals/confirms the hilarious lopsided power dynamic in that relationship.

2. Rashida Jones On Ex-Sex

The verdict: ex-sex is OK in some situations, as long as you meet the parameters. While promoting her breakup movie Celeste And Jesse Forever in an interview with Nerve in 2012, Jones said:

I think it's a good idea when you know that you're not going to see them again or call them again. If it's ex-sex with the hopes of it not being over, you're screwed. Ex-sex is also a good idea when there's unfinished business, like maybe when it's subtly hate sex, or let-me-show-you-how-much-I've-learned-in-the-past-couple-years sex.

Pretty solid advice, actually: have the ex-sex, and then ghost forever.

3. Cameron Diaz Uses Sex To Stay Young

It's not the blood of virgins, just rigorous sexual activity that keeps Cameron Diaz lookin' fresh. As Diaz told British Vogue in 2010, "The fountain of youth [for me], let's see... I guess it's exercise, healthy diet, lots of water, lots of laughter, lots of sex. Yes, sex, we need that as human beings. It's healthy, it's natural, it's what we are here to do!" You have to admit, it's working for her.

4. Jane Fonda Continues To Get It

Shout out to Jane Fonda for living her best life at all times. Back in 2012, Fonda humblebragged in The Sun: "At 74, I have never had such a fulfilling sex life," talking about her sex life with her partner, Richard Perry, a music producer she had met two years earlier. We can all learn from Jane Fonda.

5. Rihanna Is Not Down For Casual Sex

Shocking: even sex symbols aren't always doing the dirty. Rihanna talked to Vanity Fair about her aversion to casual sex and her very low "number" (are people still asking about numbers?) The reason: "If I wanted to I would completely do that,” she said. “I am going to do what makes me feel happy, what I feel like doing. But that would be empty for me; that to me is a hollow move. I would wake up the next day feeling like sh*t."

6. Zoe Saldana Is No Nonsense

Saldana not only the go-to girl for any and every sci-fi movie (which is great, because she's a woman of color!), but she also loves to talk about sex, baby. She very concisely and openly shared her favorite sex positions on the British show The Conversation with Amanda De Cadenet in 2013, saying, "If I'm on top, if I'm straddling... why am I stuttering? It's so f*cking natural! For a long time I was a bit lazy so I didn’t like to be on top, but I’m really digging it." Yes. I love you Uhura. Spock is lucky. Also, she's super real because who isn't lazy about sex some times?

7. Cher Talks About Tom Cruise As A "Lover"

First of all, let's all agree to retire the term "lover," especially in reference to Tom Cruise. Cher, fashion icon and amazing Twitter user, talked about her brief tryst with Cruise in the 1980s with Andy Cohen on Watch What Happens Live in 2013, and Tom Tom was apparently really good. "He wasn't a Scientologist then," Cher made sure to specify. "It was pretty hot and heavy for a little minute. He's a great guy. The person that I knew was a great and lovable guy."

8. Martha Stewart Sexts

Martha Stewart might be 74, but she keeps up with the times. Not only did she bring the house down at Justin Bieber's Comedy Central roast, (Snoop Dogg loves her so much), but she also sexts. On Watch What Happens Live, Stewart told a delighted Andy Cohen that she sexted, and when he asked if she had ever had a threesome, she simply said, "Maybe." She is a 21st century woman. And that's a good thing!

9. Bryan Cranston Talks About His First Time

Cranston talked about losing his virginity on Inside The Actors' Studio, of all places. The Breaking Bad star told James Lipton that his first time was in the red light district in Amsterdam and described it as "awful and wonderful." He said,

I didn't want to tell them I was a virgin. I'm panicking. And we go to this house with a red light, which I thought was very convenient and subtle advertising. My two friends negotiate a deal... I'm backing out and they go upstairs. I wait in the foyer... A woman comes out and she indicates, "How much you have," and I go "oh no, I don't have"... and I'm going to show her that I don't have enough. She takes it, grabs my hand, and pulls me into a room.

Strange place to share the story, yes, but what a great one.

10. Jada & Will Do It Everywhere

Mother of coolest teens ever Willow and Jaden, Jada Pinkett Smith gave some pretty great advice about how to keep your sex life interesting and fulfilling in an interview in Redbook in 2009:

Be sneaky... your girlfriend's house at a party. The bathroom. A bedroom. Think of places outside that are comfortable to have sex. Does he have access to his office? Have a fantasy date. Be his secretary! Pull over on the side of the road... Just switch it up.

I hope her girlfriends are understanding, but honestly, if you're Will and Jada Smith's friend, you're so lucky that you would definitely let them have sex in your bathroom at a party. But not as lucky as the Smiths, who are apparently having crazy good sex.

11. Chrissy Teigen Admits That She And John Legend Did It At...

"An Obama thing." You read right. Everyone's favorite mom-to-be got asked a question on the red carpet about the strangest place she and John Legend had had sex, and without missing a beat she was like, "Probably the Obama thing?" embarrassing the crap out of Legend, who literally walked away. Though Teigen is still respectful; she made sure to say that it was not at the White House. God bless these two.

Go forth into the world knowing some of the most famous people you know are still figuring this whole sex thing out. It could take a lifetime, people! (P.S. don't masturbate to Mariah Carey's "Hero," though. I don't know about that.)
