Is Anastasia Beverly Hills' Contour Kit Worth It?

by Alexa Tucker

Gone are the days when contouring was an elusive beauty trend reserved exclusively for red carpet glam or any member of the Kardashian krew. Endless beauty brands now make specialized kits, but one has always stood out. So, is the Anastasia Beverly Hills Countour Kit worth it? My vote is yes.

The contouring trend is still going strong, but after its all-time popularity high, the look has been since been toned down. Subtle definition is the name of the game now, and Anastasia's kit has that on lock — the six shades give you a totally customized look, so you can create light highlights and shadows that don't look harsh or unnatural on your face shape.

That's the beauty of the kit, though — if you're feeling a bolder vibe, you can layer on the powder to your heart's desire for a dramatic beauty look. The brand also makes a highly reviewed cream contour kit, but I'm partial to the powder, personally.

Usually, I'm a bigger fan of creams and liquids when it comes to makeup, but this powder formula is finely milled and easy to blend, and the hue saturation is perfect for building color (or not.) I also love that it sets my foundation and concealer.

I didn't consider myself a contouring kind of girl until I was gifted this palette — and it was the best thing that ever happened to my beauty drawer, TBH. From subtly enhancing my nose to defining my face shape, I'm obsessed. Hey, why not gift it to yourself? I'm in favor.

I'm not alone in my love for this palette, though. These three YouTubers are all about the Anastasia Contour Kit, too.

Powder Pros

This vlogger's thoughts: She loves that the powders are easy to work with, and the pans can be ordered individually from Anastasia Beverly Hills' website.

Cream Palette Perspective

Although she warns that the cream palette hues are on the warm side, this reviewer loves how pigmented the product is (it makes it easier to justify the $40 investment, because a little goes a long way.)

Full-Fledged Fan

"This is the holy grail of highlighting and contouring products." Preach.
