It's off-season for American Horror Story fans, so yeah — we're not getting our weekly fix into Ryan Murphy's warped, albeit beautiful, beautiful mind. But what are we supposed to do? Sit here, and stare at the ceiling until Season 6 of American Horror Story premieres? No, that'd be insane. How about we fill the void with speculation on who's going to return instead? I don't know where your heads at, but that sounds like a much better plan to me. Thankfully, AHS Season 6 casting rumors have been circling the Interwebs as of late, so we can speculate together. In solidarity. Without judgment from our peers.
What? Moving on...
Everyone's favorite morbidly chilling anthology series has officially been picked up for a sixth installment, but as for setting and plot, few details have been divulged. So you better believe that we don't know the cast either. *Sigh.* We can assume that in typical AHS form, the series staples will all be there (Evan Peters, Lily Rabe, Sarah Paulson), but we don't really know. They could have other commitments, or maybe Murphy's looking to mix things up. That's just the nature of the AHS game, baby. Surprise! Suspense! Lady Gaga! All good things. So anyway, here are all the casting rumors for American Horror Story Season 6 to tide you over until it actually happens — or at least until we get more, concrete info.
The monsters have spoken. We want her back. (Did she say yes yet?)
This one has basically been confirmed. At the 2016 Golden Globes, Ryan Murphy told E! Online "Tonight I started to tell all the actors who they’re gonna play for next season because I had too much to drink… so I told Angela Bassett and she was like, WHAT?!" (And then I was also like, "WHAT?!")
Though she wasn't in AHS: Hotel, Lange told The Wrap in June, "If Ryan came to me and said, ‘Would you want to do a small character for a couple episodes?’ I would absolutely say yes if I liked it." No pressure, Murphy, but MAKE HER LIKE IT. Thanks.
In an interview with Yahoo! Roberts said, "Ryan and I said next season we’ll do something amazing and devilish. I love this season, I watch most of it with my eyes closed, but I think I get the gist. I love Lady Gaga so much, so I was like, 'Next season I want to work with Lady Gaga for sure.'"
It's obvious that Ryan Murphy loves Sarah Paulson. She's been in every single season of the series, and she's starring in his other upcoming anthology series (does Murphy sleep?), American Crime Story.
In an interview with Variety, Sevigny said the following about possible characters for the sixth installment of AHS: "I think I’d maybe like to play more of a villain." As long as you're back, that's cool with me.
In that same interview as Sevigny, Peters confessed that, should he return, he'd like to play "some kind of handicapped [character] or something."
Whatever the characters are, I can say with 100 percent certainty that I wouldn't be mad at any of these casting choices.
