'Sex And The City' Stars Ruled The SAGs Red Carpet

by Marc Cuenco

Carrie, Charlotte, Miranda, and Samantha... oh, how I miss thee! It's been almost 11 years since the HBO hit went off the air, but seeing photos of the Sex and the City cast at the SAG Awards red carpet makes me miss these stylish ladies even more. Since the 21st annual SAG Awards are airing tomorrow without the presence of Ms. Bradshaw and co. in their Manolo Blahniks, I wanted to take a look back at the outfits that the Sex and the City cast wore through the years at the star-studded event.

Aside from the designer outfits and dreamy New York lives of the women on the show, SATC was also one of the most critically acclaimed casts on television during its time. Parker received her first SAG Award nomination for Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor in a Comedy Series in 1999, which she ended up winning the following year. The cast was also nominated for Outstanding Performance by an Ensemble in a Comedy Series five years in a row, and ended up taking the trophy in 2001 and 2003. It was an exciting time for Sex and the City fans every time the show or one of the actor was nominated for a SAG Award, because it meant that they were going to show up to the red carpet in something fabulous, but more importantly, in a wonderful array of gowns and ensembles that their characters wouldn't necessarily wear.

In the years when Parker, Kristin Davis, Cynthia Nixon, and Kim Cattrall arrived to various red carpet events, we were treated to each of their individual, yet equally chic take on evening wear. Sometimes it was quirky (like Parker adding touches of Carrie Bradshaw accessories to her outfits) and other times the dresses they wore were simply timeless and elegant. Such was the case when the cast showed up to the 2001 SAG Awards:

The actor picked Carrie's signature accessory — an oversize flower pin — that added a pop of color to her black and white Chanel gown.
