Who Joined Kanye West on 'SNL'

by Marisa LaScala

Kanye West has been on Saturday Night Live a lot, so he has a lot to live up to when he shows up as the musical guest. This goes triple for his Feb. 13 appearance, since his new album, currently titled The Life of Pablo, has just been released. And by "released," I mean that some people got to listen to it at Madison Square Garden — you can't actually buy it or anything yet. It's not even clear if it's finished (though supposedly that might be Chance the Rapper's fault, according to some of Kanye's tweets). So what did Kanye West do for his first SNL performance? He brought a ton of people on stage with him, though you may not have been able to recognize them from their brief time on camera. In that case you're probably wondering, who was on stage with Kanye during SNL ?

It didn't seem that way at first. When he started his first performance, for his new song "Ultralight Beam," Kanye was on the stage alone. He didn't even sing. He waited patiently while a sample played. But, eventually, he started to perform, and he wasn't alone. He brought a whole troupe on stage with him. Some of the people were easy to recognize, and, others, not so much. Here's how they looked.

So, who was on stage with Kanye? Kelly Price, Young Thug, and The-Dream are all there, as identified by Complex. The most puzzling one up there was El DeBarge, singer/songwriter from the group DeBarge.

The group was also joined by A$AP Bari.

For his second performance, of "Highlights," there were even more people on stage with him. In addition to performers from his previous song, he was joined on stage by a gospel choir, as well as Kirk Franklin.

Chance the Rapper, who was just on SNL in December, also performed with Kanye.

So, if you liked or disliked the performance, there's only one thing to do.

Kanye may have assembled an impressive group of performers to support him on SNL, but he definitely still kept the spotlight.
