Although Harry Styles was at a Grammys pre-party on Sunday night, that didn't mean he or the rest of One Direction would show up at the 2016 Grammys on Monday night. Not only is the boy band on hiatus, but One Direction didn't get nominated for any Grammys this year, much to the chagrin of their fans. And, despite rumors that One Direction might show up, the guys didn't end up coming to the music awards ceremony.
On Sunday, all members of One Direction, except Niall Horan, were reported to be in Los Angeles to attend the Grammys. However, there was a rumor that the guys may leave the U.S. to join Horan in the Philippines. Though there doesn't be any confirmation that the other three members of 1D flew to the Philippines, I can say for certain that they definitely weren't at the Grammys. Styles did make news on Sunday night, though, when he was at the same Grammys pre-party as former 1D member Zayn Malik. But just cause you go to a party doesn't mean you need to show up to the ceremony.
Since 1D wasn't nominated, is it just me or does everyone agree that it was a good idea for Styles to blow off the ceremony? Their no-show didn't stop Directioners from talking about them. Many fans took to Twitter to theorize about the guys. Even without being at the Grammys, One Direction still managed to get talked about. Now, that's some star power.
