Twitter Is Loving 'Hamilton' At The Grammys

by Mallory Carra

The 2016 Grammy Awards kicked off with performances by Taylor Swift, The Weeknd, and a star-studded tribute to Lionel Richie. But perhaps the most anticipated act of the night isn't one you'll hear on the radio — it's one from Broadway. Twitter has been so excited for the cast of Broadway's Hamilton to perform at the 2016 Grammys and fans have even made the hashtag #Gram4Ham a thing before, during, and after Hamilton's big moment from across the country. That's right, even though the Broadway cast was doing their thing from all the way in New York City, the Internet was still in captivated by the show.

#Gram4Ham is just the first in a series of many hashtags inspired by the Broadway sensation by Lin-Manuel Miranda, who wrote and stars in the hip-hop retelling of founding father Alexander Hamilton's life. The hashtag is a play on the show's #Ham4Ham pre-shows the cast often puts on for fans, considering it is so hard to get Hamilton tickets. Fans took to Twitter in high anticipation of Hamilton taking the stage for the whole Grammys audience to see and the status update website almost exploded with happiness when it finally did happen. With good reason — Hamilton is the real deal and it's so exhilarating to see it on stage once again.

Check out the #Gram4Ham tweets below.

Wait For It

But they're not willing to wait for it.

Burn

Um, let's hope Miranda is indeed Hamilton tonight.

Stay Alive

Don't worry, Hamilton will be here before you know it.

History is happening in Manhattan and Hamilton just happens to be in the greatest city in the world (on the Grammys).

The Room Where It Happens

Luckily, everyone was able to watch it as it happened.

Satisfied

It's like Ben Franklin with a key and the kite — you see it, right?

What Comes Next?

Do you have a clue what happens now? More Grammys, I guess.
