You're About To Love Priyanka Chopra Even More
After leading a beyond successful career in Bollywood, and kicking butt as Alex Parrish on ABC's hit show Quantico, Priyanka Chopra is finally going to taking Hollywood by storm in a whole new way. Yep, you heard that right. Priyanka is heading to the big-screen in what will be her American film debut. Chopra has been cast in the Baywatch remake, the original a popular 1990s television series, and she's not just playing any character. She's going to be the film's brand new villain, Victoria Leeds.
That's not even the best part of the news. The Baywatch feature film will also be starring the likes of Zac Efron, Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson, Alexandra Daddario, Ilfenesh Hadera, and more, helping to round out a cast of actors that's not only diverse, but also extremely nice to look at. (And what else would you expect from a movie remake of Baywatch?) With special thanks to The Rock himself, the exciting casting announcement for Priyanka Chopra's role in the film came via instagram on Tuesday, February 16. He shared the news of her role with the world, and also managed to point out just how "insanely talented" she is. Seriously, it's about time that the rest of the world gets on board with these facts that Bollywood fans have been aware of for so long.
And how adorable is that video? In fact, Chopra was so excited about the news herself that she even took to her own Instagram to re-share the video and tell us a little bit more about her character in saying, "Being Bad is what I do best!!! U better watch out!!”
The Baywatch film is being directed by Horrible Bosses director, Seth Gordon, and is set to begin filming as early as next week. It can already be expected to hit theaters by May 19, 2017. World, get ready to hear a whole lot more about Priyanka Chopra in Hollywood going forward, because her star is on the rise in America.
