J. Law Sent A Powerful Message With This Jacket

by Marc Cuenco

She's someone who is known to speak her mind, but a few days ago, Jennifer Lawrence's "Perv" denim jacket did all the talking for her and it was perfect. The Oscar-winning actress was walking around Los Angeles while wearing a jean jacket that had the word "Perv" embroidered across the back. Whether it was meant as a message to anyone following her around or to all creeps in general — the paparazzi included — J. Law made it clear that she's a woman not to be messed with.

The denim jacket in question is from the Denim x Alexander Wang line, but Lawrence had the back customized to say "Perv" on the back. She wore the jacket over an all-black outfit made up of a v-neck top, cut-off jean shorts, and high-top sneakers. Lawrence accessorized her casual and social commentary-making look with a studded black bag and a pair of brown sunglasses.

Lawrence sending a message to pesky paparazzi to leave her alone is not new. The star has thought of several ways to get them to stop following her around, including holding up her middle finger as a sign of defiance. However, her personalized denim jacket trumps that with its element of surprise (you won't see the message until her back is turned to you), plus the fact that J. Law can pretty much wear anything and still look fabulous.

Even though Jennifer Lawrence's Alexander Wang jacket is on the pricier side, there are more budget-friendly alternatives to recreate her denim look — all of which you can personalize with your own message of empowerment:
