Rihanna's Brit Awards Look Is Flawless

by Melanie Richtman

It's safe to say that Rihanna knows a thing or two about fashion. She repeatedly makes headlines for her outfit choices, her debut collection for Puma was one of the most talked about New York Fashion Week shows, and she basically starts a new trend anytime she wears something. Wednesday night was no different when Rihanna wore a purple dress to the Brit Awards and looked phenomenal, as always.

Rihanna showed off her shoulders in a spaghetti strap, lavender dress by Armani Prive while walking the red carpet for the Brit Awards. If you look closely at the dress, it's actually made out of a sheer tulle-like material, and then round iridescent and rectangular black sequins were meticulously sewn to give it more decoration. Rihanna accessorized her pretty purple dress with large teardrop earrings, a chunky diamond-encrusted cuff, and a large amethyst ring.

Her beauty look was another thing to marvel at. Rihanna is one of the many celebs who have transitioned to a trendy blunt hair cut, which was on full display at the Brit Awards. And, because she's Rihanna and she can do whatever she wants (like making blue lipstick the next It color), she paired her blacked wing eyeliner with a shimmery, almost frosted pastel purple eyeshadow that reminds me of something I would've worn as a child of the '90s.

But before I gush more about her eye makeup, here is a close-up of the dress so you can see the intricate detailing.

Now back to the eyeshadow. If (read: when) Rihanna makes shimmery purple eyeshadow cool, I will be the first to get behind the trend, because it looks soooo pretty on her.

Here it is with her eyes closed.

This purple has enough pigment to show on a variety of skin tones and just the right amount of shimmer.
