Deathstroke Returned To "Star City 2046" On 'Legends Of Tomorrow,' But Not As The Slade Wilson You Remember
Is it even possible to forget a character like Slade Wilson? He made for such a memorable character on Arrow and I've personally missed his presence on the show ever since he was banished to a prison on Lian Yu. So you imagine how excited I was to see his alter-ego Deathstroke return to Star City on Legends of Tomorrow . However, it turned out not to be quite the reunion I had expected because while this character definitely donned the super-villain's iconic attire, he proved to be a completely different generation of evil... quite literally. You see, Deathstroke is actually Slade's son, Grant Wilson. So I guess the apple didn't fall all that far from the villainous tree.
Of course, a majority of the episode was centered around the gang taking Grant down, but I'm more curious as to how this character was even born in the first place. Right now, in the Arrow present day, Slade is trapped on the island of Lian Yu. Call me crazy, but this doesn't seem like the ideal destination to hook up with someone. So unless Slade was out partying with the ladies before his imprisonment (which seems unlikely since he was so obsessed with killing Oliver), I can only assume that Grant's conception has yet to happen. But if Slade is captured, then how is that even possible? (A.R.G.U.S. isn't approving conjugal visits right?)
I know it may not be a big deal in the grand scheme of things and is just a minor detail that the writers didn't feel the need to explain. But what if it's more than that? What if this insinuates that Slade eventually escapes Lian Yu? He's certainly capable of pulling a stunt like that, so it may only be a matter of time before Oliver is forced to face his old nemesis once more. (*fingers crossed*)
