Jimmy Kimmel Is All Of Us In This 'BvS' Sketch

by Michelle Lulic

With the 88th Annual Academy Awards running overtime on Sunday night, movie fans may have hit the hay before tuning in to any of their regular late night talk shows. However, that didn't stop Jimmy Kimmel Live from bringing on the stars and mocking Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice in a hilarious fake deleted scene. With a starstruck recognition of both Clark Kent and Bruce Wayne's secret identities at Lex Luthor's party, Kimmel is finally addressing the age-old superhero flaw: How does nobody recognize them? And, with the addition of photo calls, photos, and even a Periscope stream, it soon becomes clear that this whole "secret identity" thing probably wouldn't fly so well in today's social media-focused day and age.

Aside from Kimmel's personal privacy-invading antics, the Batman (Ben Affleck) and Superman (Henry Cavill) clip also brings on the likes of Lex Luthor himself (Jesse Eisenberg), the voice of Lego Batman (Will Arnett), and even an unexpected trip to Mars featuring The Martian's Matt Damon. It makes for a star-studded clip and a hard lesson to learn: Don't mess with superheroes and their hidden identities. In fact, Kimmel could very well be proving why nobody has spoken up about this point until now. Just check out the clip for yourself to see how their awkward encounter ends.

All of the Batman V Superman late night late show promotion might seem a little too soon for you, but, believe it or not, the second installment in the DC Comics Justice League build-up is actually going to be here sooner than you may have realized. With February being a leap year, superhero fans are heading into March and can expect to see Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice in theaters as of March 25. Then, once the highly-anticipated superhero face-off reaches its end, the summer blockbuster season is kicking into high gear with the May 6 release of Marvel's Captain America: Civil War.

Basically, it's time for movie lovers to face the hard but all-too-exciting truth that award season is out and blockbuster season is in. Get ready for some more hilarious superhero promotion and for some heart-pounding movie theater action.
