Did You Catch This In The 'OITNB' Teaser?
Maybe you were too anxious over the will he/won't he anticipation about Leonardo DiCaprio winning an Oscar for Revenant (spoiler alert: he did) on Sunday night to really pay attention to all the other important happenings Sunday night. And that's a damn shame, because, on Sunday night, a new teaser trailer for Orange Is The New Black debuted. Even though the teaser is very much just a small taste of what's to come in Season 4 (like, it clocks in at 35 seconds long) there is a bit of an important spoiler nestled in the Orange Is The New Black trailer. See, even if you did catch those magical 35 seconds during the commercial break, you might not have seen who was hiding among Litchfield's inmates.
Well, once more with feeling. According to Cosmopolitan, about 19 seconds in, there's a familiar face wearing a familiar pair of glasses among the herd. That's right, Alex Vause seems to be cowering (is everyone running from a bullhorn or something, what is this) all the way to the right. And why is this significant, folks? Because, when we last left Alex off, she was getting cornered in the greenhouse by Aydin, who was sent by Kubra to take her out. So it would seem, my friends, that the Bettie Page of Litchfield managed to escape unscathed... as in, she didn't get murdered or anything.
So what does that mean for Season 4? Will Alex and Piper rekindle their relationship after Piper's brief, panty-selling detour with mega babe Ruby Rose? Will Alex finally find some proper help for the very evident post-traumatic stress disorder she seems to be harboring? But, most importantly, will we find out what exactly went down in that greenhouse? Because, if Alex didn't die, and killing a correctional officer would undoubtedly land her in the SHU or worse, then it seems like some sort of deal would have had to been made for her survival. Unless... both had to part ways for some reason and she's still under the shadow of death. Ooooh, spooky.
It's all still very unclear for now. What is evident is that the new season is bound to bring much more drama, higher security than ever, and, as far as I can see from the trailer, plenty of dance routines (thank God). But you don't have to take my word for it. Orange Is The New Black returns June 16. Until then, go and rewatch the teaser trailer properly below.
