11 Celeb Couples Who Met At Weirdly Normal Places

It's no secret that a ton of celebrities have met their future spouses on the set of their TV shows or movies. I mean, it's only natural: they spend long hours there together, and on-set romance just happens to be a more fun version of the regular person's workplace flings. But not all stars find love on-set — some celeb couples have met at a party or bar, just like we civilian folk do. As Us Weekly has told us time and again: "Stars, they're just like us!" And they even meet their true loves at social gatherings that aren't red carpet premieres or film festivals. Crazy, right?

As much time as celebs spend on set, they also make appearances at parties and unwind at bars, just like you and I do. Sure, they may get to hang in the VIP area, but many stars have met their future loves or spouses while mixing and mingling with the famous and not-so-famous alike. Reese Witherspoon has met both of her husbands at parties, Britney Spears met her latest beau at a party, and Matt Damon met his wife at a bar in Miami Beach after a long day on set.

See, it can happen — check out the list of celeb couples who met at a bar or party below.

According to an interview in Elle, the Oscar-winning actor met her CAA agent husband at a friend's party, when a drunk man was hitting on her. "He was like, [slurring, scowling, pointing finger in her face] `You don't know me,'" she told the magazine in 2012. "And I was like, `Yeah, I know. I don't know you!' Jim came over and said, `Please excuse my friend. He's just broken up with someone.' Jim was a really good friend, pulling him out of that situation. That's just kind of who he is, a really good person."

2. Matt Damon & Luciana Barroso

In 2011, the Bourne actor told Ellen DeGeneres that he met his wife in 2002 while she was a bartender at a bar in Miami Beach and he was filming the Farrelly Brothers movie Stuck On You. The movie was actually supposed to film in Hawaii, but changed locations to Miami. After a long day of shooting, some of the crew invited Damon to get a drink and he was reluctant to agree, but went anyway.

"We ended up at a bar where my wife was the bartender," he told DeGeneres. "I literally saw her across a crowded room, literally, and eight years and four kids later, that's my life. I don't know how else our paths would've crossed if that didn't happen. If all those things didn't happen."

"And you're just some naive kid from Toronto staying in some sh*tty-ass hotel who got invited to this party on a whim. That's just how it happened."
