11 Inspiring Quotes About Love

by Sifra Hartog

All you need is love. Right? Love is such a big word, and such a big concept. It’s not just something that exists between two people romantically — you can have love for your family and friends, your passions, your work, and, last but certainly not least, for yourself.

I have always been fascinated with words, books, quotes, and just about anything I could read. Words can say so much when they are put together in just the right way. They can make you feel emotional, they can be a real wake-up call, or they can make you cry or laugh out loud. Words can touch, because you can relate to them.

Some people have this amazing talent to describe what I am feeling in words, when I can't put those feelings into words myself. It makes me feel understood and it makes me feel like I am not the only one experiencing these emotions. That is why I love looking for poignant quotes to make me feel like I am a part of humanity as a whole. They can be sad, melancholic, joyful, and mesmerizing. But however they make me feel, they always make me realize that I am not alone. That we are living on this planet with so many people, so many feelings, and so much love. Here are 11 of my favorite quotes about love.

This one is just so cute. It makes me laugh and really feel those butterflies again!

This is so true. Whether in a friendship or a romantic relationship, if someone is happy and you feel truly happy for their happiness, that is love!

I love how this one suggests that we can love one another, but also let that person be themselves, make their own choices while we stand by their sides.

This one I find so comforting. These words give hope to people who are going through a rough or lonely time.

This is a quote I think a lot of people can relate to. Almost all of us have someone we love who is not nearby. But that doesn’t make you love them any less. And what is distance when there is true love?

This one just makes you want to kiss your lover right away!

Oh the lovely Oscar Wilde! These words remind you of how valuable and special you are and that you deserve someone who sees that in you. This makes me feel strong.

We all know love can hurt. Deeply. Badly. Someone who knows how to describe these feelings beautifully is the poet Warsan Shire. Her words just go straight to your heart.

This poem by Warsan Shire is one of my absolute favorites. Yes, I can relate to it, not all of it, but most of it. I think this is an amazing one to read when you just went through a breakup and you are questioning yourself.

This one is a good reminder that you are perfect just the way you are.

Let’s love our parents while they are still with us!
