She's starred in everything from 7th Heaven to Blade: Trinity, but Jessica Biel took on a brand-new role last April when she became a mom. Although it seems like she and Justin Timberlake are nailing parenting duty with their son Silas, don't expect a new baby anytime soon. On Thursday's episode of The Ellen DeGeneres Show, Biel cleared up any pregnancy rumors and laughed them off like a champ. After DeGeneres said, "But you're preparing for your next child, because I read that you're pregnant." Biel joked with a smile, "Isn't it exciting, guys?" Then they both laughed and the host said, "No," confirming this actually wasn't true. Biel elaborated,
I don’t even know what to say about these things. I feel like, man, I thought I was doing good with my yoga practice. I thought I was in the gym. But no, I have a gut, apparently.
On one hand, I think it's awesome that Biel is able to laugh off ridiculous rumors. She said that she sometimes has to call up Timberlake and ask, "Wait, are we pregnant?" because there are that many rumors. But at the same time, it's rather disappointing an analysis of her stomach size prompts such speculation. It's just another example of how women's bodies tend to be evaluated and critiqued by society, which is unfair. So while, I admire Biel's honesty and sense of humor, it's kind of mind-boggling that whether or not she works out could spur another rumor to start.

Although Timberlake is known for being a funny guy, with stints on Saturday Night Live and various sketches with Jimmy Fallon, I hadn't realized Biel was so funny herself. I unintentionally underestimated her, since I'd only seen her take on more serious acting roles in the past. But throughout the entire interview with DeGeneres, she's goofing around and talking about motherhood in just such a sincere way, that you can tell she really enjoys being a mom and cares about her kid.
There may not be another Timberbaby on the way just yet, but it sounds like Silas is being raised right. And at the end of the day, that's what matters most. Oh, and based on what else Biel said, he may very well take after his dad and be a future famous musician. Fingers crossed!
