The 2016 ACM Awards Are Not To Be Missed

by Laura Rosenfeld

One of the reasons why I love to watch the Grammys so much is because it always brings together artists from across genres for surprisingly amazing duets. Well, I guess I've got to add the Academy of Country Music Awards as one of my favorite ceremonies now because this year's show is going to have a sure-to-be-buzzworthy duet of its own when Dolly Parton and Katy Perry take the stage together for the first time ever, the awards show announced earlier this month. I don't even know what their performance is going to be like at all, but I know that I don't want to miss it, and you shouldn't either. So cowboys and cowgirls, let's figure out how to stream the 2016 Academy of Country Music Awards online, shall we?

That, of course, is assuming that you don't own a TV or get CBS, where the 2016 ACM Awards will be airing live from the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas on Sunday, April 3 at 8 p.m. ET., according to the network's website. If you do have all that jazz, good for you! You can watch Dolly croon with Katy and all of the other country magic that's sure to unfold that night.

But if you don't watch anything that you can't stream online, you're not a lost cause. There are still ways to see country superstars and hosts for the night, Luke Bryan and Dierks Bentley, introduce performances by the likes of Carrie Underwood, Tim McGraw, and Chris Stapleton. And, oh yeah, some people are also going to be taking home some trophies in categories like Entertainer of the Year, Album of the Year, and Song of the Year.

So how are you going to get this party started through a live stream on Sunday night? Keep on reading to find out.

Stream It Through CBS

The good news? Select markets can watch whatever's airing on CBS live right from the network's website or its mobile app, according to the FAQ section on the network's site. The bad news is that you have to sign up for the network's streaming service, CBS All Access, which costs $5.99 per month. However, you get to enjoy your first week free, so you can always cancel your account before your paid subscription begins if you're not feeling it after you enjoy the ACM Awards.

Stream It Through Cable

If you have cable provider log-in credentials, you could always live stream the 2016 ACM Awards through your cable company's website or mobile app. If you can do this, you also probably have cable and a TV, for that matter, but different strokes for different folks, am I right?

YouTube It Later

The two aforementioned options are really all we've got in terms of live streaming this extravaganza. However, you could always do some exploring on YouTube for clips of the show after the live telecast. The Academy of Country Music's official YouTube channel is getting updated more and more frequently all the time, so we might get lucky with some clips from the awards show on Sunday night. Last year, the channel posted videos of each of the winners talking about their award in the press room, which is a pretty nifty piece of behind-the-scenes content from the show that's worth watching whether or not you're able to see the whole thing live.

And if you can't watch the 2016 ACM Awards live, don't worry. You have a whole year ahead of you to correct that mistake.
