Jules Wainstein Is A Perfect Fit For 'RHONY'

by Marenah Dobin

I don't know about you, but I would be super intimidated to join the cast of a show like Real Housewives of New York City. Of course, I've loved watching the stars over the years, but it takes a special lady to make it in this group. While all of my favorites have stuck around on RHONY, there have been a couple spots that have really been a revolving door of Housewives. At the show's Season 8 premiere party on Wednesday, new RHONY Housewife Jules Wainstein makes it very clear that she can handle being on reality TV. She tells me, at the event hosted by herself and co-star Dorinda Medley, what it's like being the new girl on the show, and she seems to be handling it just fine. In fact, I'm honestly surprised that it took this long for her to get on reality TV.

"I mean, I love attention so this is the most attention that I could ever get in my entire life of living on this Earth," she says. "So I'm all for it. I'm having a great time, but I don't know what to expect. Every moment is surreal."

Being the newest Housewife, I already have some vicarious nervousness when it comes to how the other ladies are going to treat Jules this season. After all, on Wednesday night's first episode, we saw Bethenny Frankel make comments about Jules' weight. I thought that Bethenny really attacked Jules during that first brunch scene, but Jules teases that there is way more to their story than that. "Oh, she didn't come for me," she says. "But wait for it. You'll get your chance to see that."

Jules is really holding her own already and even with the inevitable drama, her new co-stars have been treating her well and making her feel like she is a welcomed member of the squad. Jules explains, "I've known Dorinda, but I've also known Ramona for a few years. Even Bethenny, we had our moment, but we are still good friends. Everyone was really nice." As a superfan, that is very reassuring to hear. It just really warms my heart to hear that these reality TV stars are really friends outside of the show.

Now that Season 8 of Real Housewives of New York City has started airing, Jules is really a part of the fold now. The viewers are getting to know her through her scenes on the show and with time they will want to know even more. The idea of having fans is not something the newest Housewife is used to yet, but she laughs at the thought and tells me what she would like them to know about her:

My new fans? You know what, if you don't have a sense of humor, you're not going to understand. That's it all in a nutshell. I look at the glass half full. I don't take life seriously. Life is hard so you gotta make fun of yourself and live life positively.

Even though we are only one episode in, I have to say that I am a fan of Jules' already. She is hilarious without even trying, she keeps it real, and she makes an effort to have a positive attitude — you can't ask for much more from a reality star. I have a feeling that she has a lot more fans than she realizes already and that she is going to be a great addition to the series.
