On Thursday, it was reported by several outlets that Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt star Ellie Kemper is pregnant with her first child. And soon after, she confirmed the news while appearing on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, which aired Thursday night. As I'm sure fans of the Office star can imagine, Ellie Kemper talking about her pregnancy was adorable during her chat with Jimmy Fallon. Not only did she gush about having a child with her husband, Michael Komen, but her excitement and sense of humor shined even more than usual proving she'll be the most fun mom.
It's clear she is beyond thrilled about becoming a first-time mom. Immediately after sitting down with Fallon, Kemper said, "I have big news. I’m pregnant!" Fallon of course hopped on the excitement bandwagon. While speaking directly to her baby bump, he joked, "I can’t wait for you to see the show! Your mom is really talented!" Then, they both started saying, "Hi, baby! Hi, baby!" Kemper then added, "You're the first one to bless him or her. And now I reveal it's actually just a disco ball."
Fallon then offered the actor/comedian some of his Ben & Jerry's Tonight Dough, which went over really well with the Bridesmaids star. "I’m not just saying this because it’s your show – Tonight Dough is my favorite flavor," she said excitedly. "I have been having a pint every other night. That is not a joke. I will probably fall asleep while I eat this because it’s going to be like a Pavlovian response because I fall asleep eating it every night."
Her adorableness continued from there, especially when Fallon also sent congrats to her husband. Kemper thanked him and then hilariously said to the audience, "That's my husband. He's the father." And here Fallon thought he'd have to bring out Maury Povich to prove whether or not Komen was indeed the dad.
You can check out Kemper and Fallon's chat below. Trust me, it's worth a watch, including the part where she talks about how she tried to keep her pregnancy a secret and ended up telling Tina Fey about it before her own mom.
As you'll see from the get-go, Kemper is going to make a great mom and a fun one at that.
