When Will Pink's Next Album Be Out?

Listen, I don't want to sound ungrateful or anything, but real talk — when is Pink's next album coming out? I'm a ride-or-die fan, so I don't want to make it sound like I'm out of here if she doesn't put out new material on my timeline or whatever... but I'd be lying if I said I wasn't getting a little antsy. After all, her last album was The Truth About Love, and that came out all the way back in September 2012, so I've had a lot of time to twiddle my thumbs and wait for the follow-up. (While listening to every single song on it on repeat, of course.) The reason I'm thinking about this is that a new Pink song, "Just Like Fire," did come out Friday, it just wasn't a single promoting any upcoming album. Instead, it was released as a part of the soundtrack for the movie Alice Through The Looking Glass, due out May 27, a move that seems specially designed to taunt us.

I honestly have no complaints about the song — it's amazing, that's why — except that all it's really done is whet my whistle for more original Pink tracks. So let's talk about when we can expect those. Our girl Alecia Moore hasn't made any official statements as far as release dates, but she has confirmed that she is working on her seventh studio album, and has hinted that it might be out in 2016. In fact, even though the album is untitled for now, she's gone so far as to register a few tracks from it — 10, to be specific, including "Just Like Fire" — so we do at least have some hard proof that it's in the works.

If I had to speculate — and keep in mind, this is just me guessing based on the evidence listed above — I'd guess that we'll be seeing Pink's next offering in fall 2016. It's late enough after the premiere of Alice Through The Looking Glass so as not to distract, and she's also proven in the past that she favors fall album release dates. Of her six studio albums, four have been released in September, October, or November; the other two have been released in April, and that window is swiftly closing, so I'm leaning hard into autumn. So that's my prediction, and in the meantime, feel free to help yourself to the new Pink song "Just Like Fire," below.

Fingers crossed we've sleuthed this one out correctly!
