How To Use Lipsticks As Eyeliner

Makeup has no rules. You can use lipstick as cheek stain or as eyeliner. You can use eyeliner as lipstick. So when I saw the matte liquid lipstick as eyeliner trend pick up on Instagram, I had to know what liquid lipsticks to use as eyeliner this summer.

Why use liquid lipstick as eyeliner? Well, many times it's hard to find eyeliner that's as bold and bright as the shade you have in mind. The standard liner colors are black, brown... and navy if you're lucky. But now brands are branching out to include colorful liners in special, limited edition launches. If you can get your hands on a special edition liner, or an expensive high-end burst of color, liquid lipsticks are a creative alternative to gel liners.

The easiest way to apply a liquid lipstick as an eyeliner is to use a tiny eyeliner brush, dip it in the lipstick and apply as usual. Once it dries, you're good to go! It's your typical gel or cream eyeliner routine, but with a colorful twist. If you prefer to use pencils or kohl liners, try using lip liner pencils as an eyeliner instead. Really, the possibilities are endless!

Below are my favorite, colorful shades to rock this summer.
