Taylor Swift's First Met Gala Dress Was #Fearless

by Lindsey Rose Black

Taylor Swift is rapidly becoming one of fashion's hottest icons and never shies away from a bold new look. But since the singer is co-hosting this year's Met Gala, I say it's time to take a trip down memory lane and admire Taylor Swift's first Met Gala dress! It was, not surprisingly, completely #Fearless.

Taylor Swift's first Met Gala was in 2008 and, to understand her outfit choice, let's recap her year. She dropped her second album, "Fearless," got her first ever Grammy nomination, and was still rocking long curly locks. The sweet star definitely hadn't had her platinum blonde makeover courtesy of Anna Wintour yet, and was still all about repping her pop-country vibe roots. As a result, her 2008 Met Ball look makes perfect sense.

Swifty is definitely channeling the classic country performer style with a long ball gown, but you can start to see a hint of what would become the glamorous queen of #ShakeItOff peeking through. Her dress is covered in stunner gold sequin chain links, and paired with equally dazzling chandelier earrings. And can we stop and appreciate her initial signature look with those gorgeous light honey-blonde curls? I'm getting all of the nostalgia feels. Aren't you?

I personally can't freaking wait to see what Swift wears this year to co-host. #GetItGirl.
