Meet The Hosts Of The 2016 Met Gala

by Emily McClure

Fashion's most illustrious night is just around the corner, and this year's hosts of Met Gala couldn't be more fabulous. As fashion events go, the Met Gala is essentially the Super Bowl of the fashion world. Everyone from A-List celebrities to top designers and models attend this luxurious night of fashion and philanthropy. Hosting the event is even considered a top honor among fashion's elite, and this year's hosts, also known as the "chairs," couldn't be more fitting.

The chairs of the 2016 Met Ball are Taylor Swift, Idris Elba, Apple's Chief Design Officer Jonathan Ive, and of course, Anna Wintour. These top tier names read as a "who's who" in the world of fashion and technology, and the Vogue Editor-in-Chief wouldn't have it any other way. With this year's theme, "Manus x Machina," it's fitting that the hosts of the event would come from such fashionable and technologically driven backgrounds. From Taylor Swift, who is a digital media princess to Apple's own Chief Design Officer, the chairs of the event have had an extreme influence over the way that fashion can be portrayed in the digital realm.

Not only are this year's hosts perfect for the theme of the event, but they also understand just how important this night can be to the world of fashion. The hosts themselves have even influenced past events by being some of the best dressed in attendance. Let's take a look back at some of the best outfits that this year's hosts have worn to past galas. Here are a few of my favorite Met Gala looks from the 2016 chairs.
