This Is What Inspired The Rihanna X Dior Collab

Everyone’s pretty much obsessed with anything that gets a Rihanna stamp of approval, and her newest collaboration is going to be no different. The inspiration behind the Rihanna X Dior collab might surprise you, but then again, RiRi isn’t exactly known to play it safe.

According to WWD, Rihanna divulged her inspiration behind the collection in a press release, naming none other than La Forge from Star Trek as the main source. “I’ve always been obsessed with his eyewear, and when I got to Dior and saw all the materials I could play with, it all just came together,” she said. Given the futuristic design aesthetic in the collection, I can definitely see where RiRi was going with all of this, and of course, I approve. She really does no wrong. Now, they could be a tad more affordable, but she and I will have to talk about that. Whenever you’re available, Rihanna!

These frames come in silver, blue, pink, green and red and retail for $840. Of course, there’s also a very special 24-karat gold edition for $1,950. Pocket change, right? I wish! But, it’s a small price to pay for a Rihanna-designed “out of this world” accessory game, am I right?
