Khloe Kardashian Files For Divorce From Lamar Odom For A Second Time & It's Extremely Sad News To Hear

Sad news. According to TMZ, Khloe Kardashian filed for divorce from Lamar Odom again on Thursday. The two were originally married in September of 2009, and this will be the second time that Kardashian has filed for divorce from Odom: She previously pulled her December 2013 divorce petition just weeks before it was to be finalized. (Bustle has reached out to Kardashian and Odom's reps but has not heard back at this time.) The reality star and the former NBA player have had a challenging marriage, and though news of their alleged divorce is certainly sad, it seems that these two need to do what's best for them as individuals.

According to TMZ, Kardashian and Odom's divorce did not go through for over a year and a half because Kardashian had hoped to save her marriage by having Odom go through rehab for drug-related issues. Then, in October of 2015, E! reports that Odom overdosed at a Nevada brothel, and that Kardashian rushed to his side, pulling that initial divorce petition only weeks later. In the weeks following Odom's scary health crisis, Kardashian seemed to be supporting her ex with walks and family outings, suggesting to some that, perhaps, these two would get back together. In fact, the news that Kardashian has filed for divorce may come as a bit of a surprise to fans, who recently saw Odom make an appearance on Kardashian's SnapChat in April.

However, Kardashian did hint over a month ago that she may be finally ready to move on from her marriage on Instagram with this cryptic quote:

Whether or not the quote is truly about Odom (Kardashian did tell E! that not all of her Instagram quotes are deep insights into her own problems) it does reflect her own worldview. Kardashian may have a lot of love for Odom, but as the divorce petition proves, she believes it's time to move on and take care of herself. Here's hoping that this pair of friendly exes remains friendly even when officially divorced from one another.
