Here's When 'Shameless' Season 7 Returns

by Taylor Ferber

A few months ago, we were left wondering what the hell is going on with the always-dysfunctional Gallagher family. I mean, we're always wondering that, but this time we were really wondering. Without spoiling anything, the sixth season of Shameless ended in April with Fiona's crashed wedding, a rehab center, and a major character being thrown into a river. W-T-F. But don't throw yourself off any cliffs from that hanger just yet (see what I did there?). Showtime is bringing us back to Chicago to catch up with the crew in just a few short months for Season 7 and *breathing a sigh of relief* all is well in the world. For the time being. On Wednesday, Showtime announced the Shameless Season 7 premiere date, and it's right around the corner.

Actually, Showtime announced the return dates for some of its most beloved programs — Shameless included, obviously — and basically it needed to be fall 2016, like, yesterday. (Lack of Scandal aside, guys.) Mark your calendars, because Shameless will return on Sunday, October 2 at 9 p.m., available on air, demand, and the Internet, obviously. If you're brave enough to handle some spoilers, head here. For the not-so-brave, hold yourself over by hoping and praying that everything turns out OK for your favorite South Side family because, well, nothing ever does, does it?

And wait, there's more. Your other faves are on the way, too. Season 4 of Masters of Sex will return just before Shameless, on Sunday, September 11 at 10 p.m.. The third season of The Affair comes after Shameless on Sunday, November 20 at 10 p.m. Meanwhile, here I am:

Join me, TV lovers, because fall cannot come soon enough.
