FLOTUS Will Be The Next Carpool Karaoke Guest

by Erin Corbett

The Late Late Show with James Corden's Carpool Karaoke has had quite a few amazing guests over the last year. Corden kicked off the segment with Mariah Carey in 2015 where the two sang some of Carey's classics. Since then, he's had guests like Stevie Wonder, Justin Bieber, One Direction, and Adele. In these segments, Corden chooses a musical guest to drive around Los Angeles with him, as they explore the city and then sing along to songs in the car together. The host will be driving around the city with another big name soon — Corden's next Carpool Karaoke passenger will be Michelle Obama.

The First Lady announced the big news on her new Snapchat, which she just launched for herself on Tuesday. Her Snapchat story shared a behind the scenes look at FLOTUS on Ellen, and later sharing some words and some moves with her mentees.

The announcement that FLOTUS would be joining Corden on Carpool Karaoke also came to us on her Snapchat account, with Cordon saying, "Hi, I'm at the White House today and I'm gonna take a spin in a car and sing some songs with..." Obama finished his sentence with, "Me!"

Their drive — which didn't take place in Los Angeles — was filmed on Tuesday afternoon; however, the air date remains unknown, according to Entertainment Weekly.

Michelle Obama joined the photo-sharing social media network for the public to keep up with her upcoming trips to Liberia, Morocco, and Spain where she will be continuing with her Let Girls Learn program. The program is committed to ensuring access to education for girls around the world. Her account will also allow people to keep up with her everyday activities in the White House and with her important community-building work. It will definitely be a great way for young people especially to keep up with what Obama is doing during her last months in office.

Kelsey Donohue, a press aide for the First Lady, wrote on Medium, "Stay tuned for behind-the-scenes snaps from her trip, including posts from actresses and advocates Meryl Streep and Freida Pinto."

We're excited to keep up with the First Lady on her new Snapchat account, but we're also excitedly waiting to find out what she and Corden will be singing together in their upcoming Karaoke segment. Maybe we'll get another glimpse of their trip from her new Snapchat.
