Tweets From The Viernheim Shooting Are Terrifying

Another terrifying shooting incident has occurred, according to German newspaper Bild. Tweets and other reports from the Kinopolis cinema complex shooting in Viernheim, Germany claim that a gunman entered the facility, which is located outside of Frankfurt, and opened fire. As of Thursday morning Eastern time, the Associated Press and Reuters are both reporting that the gunman was killed by German authorities, and that despite initial reports that up to 50 people were injured in the attack, no one else was killed, and there have been no serious injuries.

The story broke on Thursday morning Eastern time, when it was reported that a gunman entered the German cinema complex at around 3 p.m. local time. Photos from the scene shared on Twitter by German media show heavily armed authorities standing guard outside the cinema complex, which appeared to be roped off by tape. Although there does not appear to be any casualties resulting from the attack, the incident was still enough to conjure up fear as people took to Twitter to express their disbelief at yet another act of violence.

The town of Viernheim is located in Western Germany and is home to 33,000 people. According to reports, the Kinopolis cinema complex is a part of a shopping complex that contains more than 100 other businesses. It is unclear how many people were inside the theater during the time of the attack.
