Updates To The Viernheim Movie Shooting

On Thursday, a gunman reportedly opened fire at a movie theater in Viernheim, Germany. According to German media as reported by the Associated Press, the suspect was shot dead by police. Much is still unclear and unconfirmed. Initial reports said up to 25 people were injured, but that has yet to be confirmed. Some German outlets reported that the injuries were the result of police tear gas.

Bernd Hochstädter, a police spokesperson, confirmed the gunman was killed and that "a person with a gun entered the cinema.”
