If you haven't seen Beyonce's ultra-inspirational performance at the BET Awards, drop whatever you're doing and watch it; you're in for a treat. It was an amazing performance, and she dressed accordingly: Beyonce stunned in custom Julien Macdonald, and it might just be one of her best fashion moments ever (which is saying a lot where Beyonce is concerned). The long-sleeved bodysuit featured a tribal-inspired pattern, as well as fringing along the sleeves, and was covered in 6,500 Swarovski crystals.
On the bodysuit, Macdonald noted in a press release sent to Bustle, "Beyonce is a fabulous superstar, and it’s wonderful to be able to celebrate her strength and power as a woman in these designs Swarovski crystal is the perfect complement to the tribal tattoo inspired bodysuit; she took the audience’s breath away."
Macdonald's certainly not wrong — the mega star shocked her fans this Sunday with a surprise performance of her song "Freedom" from her newest album Lemonade alongside her collaborator, Kendrick Lamar — and the two performers pretty much blew the roof off the place. There was water, there were pyrotechnics, and all in all, it was every bit as explosive as the Game of Thrones Season 6 finale (which is to say, very explosive).
Between the powerful lyrics, epic dancing and even more epic singing, it was certainly a showstopper to be remembered, even in an awards show filled to the brim with memorable moments (between Jesse Williams' moving and thought-provoking acceptance speech, and Janelle Monae's tear-inducing Prince tribute, there was a lot of awesome stuff going on).
All in all, it was quite the night — and is there any better way to deliver one of the best live performances of the year than in a Swarovski-encursted bespoke bodysuit from one of the world's hottest designers?
No. The answer you're looking for is no.
