Instagram Says Oprah and Snoop Dogg Are Friends

by Emma Goddard

Well, it looks like Oprah Winfrey and Snoop Dogg are no longer enemies. I’m not going to go ahead and say they’re suddenly best friends or anything, but after a feud that occurred between the talk show host and rapper seven years ago, Snoop Dogg and Oprah Winfrey were pictured together from an Oscar party that happened on Friday. This past Saturday, Snoop posted the picture on his Instagram, captioning it with “Black history !!” So, I guess that means “friends” in some sort of mysterious language. Plus, with all those exclamation marks, he was clearly excited about being Winfrey's comrade again.

Snoop, who was photographed alongside Winfrey and her close friend, Gayle King, expressed his dislike for Winfrey in 2007 when she called out him out for being the driving force behind misogyny in hip-hop and perpetuating sexist and demeaning stereotypes. Obviously, the singer did not take this comment well and lashed out at Winfrey, stating, “I don’t like her no more. I really was offended, because I kind of like her. Liked her. I’m very articulate, very intellectual. She didn’t even get a chance to even know me,” according to New York Daily News. As much as it sucks to be called a misogynist — not that I would really know — having a tiff with one of the world’s most powerful women probably isn’t the best idea. Like not a good idea at all.

Yet through one Instagram picture and what one would assume are genuine smiles, it’s evident that the two have put everything behind them.
