11 Reasons To Rewatch 'Finding Nemo' Right Now

In case you somehow still haven't heard, Finding Dory is an absolute monster. The movie is well on its way toward becoming one of the highest-grossing animated films of all time, as it's already hauled in an astonishing $555,000,000 in just two and a half weeks. It's been number one at the box office for each of its first three weekends, and shows no signs of slowing down. But the movie's success didn't come out of thin air. It's the sequel to Finding Nemo, one of the most beloved films ever. So if it's been a while since you've seen the original, you really need to rewatch Finding Nemo again ASAP.

Now I know you've already seen the movie. Heck, you've probably seen it multiple times. But... you still need to watch it again. First off, there's the obvious practical reason to watch it, which is, if you haven't seen Finding Dory and need a refresher. Then it's a given that you need to see the film again. But even if you have seen Finding Dory, you still need to give the original another look. Finding Nemo is funny, it's tragic, it's inspiring, it's timeless, it's gorgeous to look at; it's literally everything you could possibly want a movie to be. So why wouldn't you want to watch it again? But just in case you're still not convinced, here are 11 reasons why you need to go rewatch Finding Nemo as soon as you finish this article.

1. The Cast Is Ridiculous

Albert Brooks, Ellen DeGeneres, Willem Dafoe, Geoffrey Rush, Brad Garrett, Allison Janney, Eric Bana, Barry Humphries, Laraine Newman... seriously, this is one incredible collection of talent.

2. Dory's Humble Beginnings

Before she was a pop culture phenomenon and the star of her own movie, Dory was a scene-stealing supporting player in Finding Nemo. Watching her in her original role will remind you why you (and the world) fell in love with her in the first place.

3. Those Seagulls

Mine! Mine! Mine! God, how great are these guys?

4. The Feels

The plot of the movie revolves around a father who's overprotective of his handicapped son due to his wife's death, and if that doesn't hit you right in the heart then you're made of stone.

5. The Scary Bits

You may have forgotten that this movie has a ton of thrilling scenes. That angler fish still gives me nightmares.

6. To Brush Up On Your Whale

7. That Insane Scene In The Dentist's Office

Seriously, there's so much controlled craziness going on here that I don't even know where to begin.

8. Marlin's Dry Wit

How can someone in the ocean be so dry? Dory gets the headlines as the chief source of comedy in the film, but legendary comedian Albert Brooks's subtle humor in Marlin is not to be ignored.

9. To Remind You Not To Tap On The Glass

Seriously, don't go around banging on fish tanks. That garbage is traumatizing.

10. Fish Are Friends, Not Food

Only Pixar could successfully pull off an AA parody in a kids' movie.

11. Just Keep Swimming

Seriously, when life is getting you down, just pop in Finding Nemo and find your inspiration.

That's it. Those are your reasons. So what are you waiting for? Go rewatch Finding Nemo!
