Bryan Cranston, Patriot
I am living in Philadelphia one week before the Democratic Convention — so, basically, I live in Hollywood now. Who might get in line behind me at Starbucks? Lena Dunham’s assistant? Will Lady Gaga’s assistant ride next to me on the SEPTA (subway)? How can I get an autograph from Snoop Dogg’s assistant?! As awash with HRC-supporting celebrity as I am surely soon to be, I still find myself craving the company of a certain Breaking Bad star with remarkable facial hair versatility. If you’re like me, you’re asking, “Will Bryan Cranston be at the DNC convention?”
According to BillyPenn.com, America’s most endearing meth cooker is on the list of confirmed attendees for the Democratic National Committee’s convention in Philadelphia next week. If Hillary’s people didn’t grab him up because of his Emmy-winning performance in Breaking Bad, they might have been taken by his patriotic portrayal of LBJ in HBO’s project, All the Way, earlier this year. There’s also potential that Hillary might want him to appeal to religious voters, since according to IMDB, Cranston became an ordained minister in college so he could earn some extra money! My best bet, however, is that Hillary is just a huge fan of Malcom in the Middle.
No matter how Cranston got the invite, he’ll be in Philly soon along with the rest of Hillary’s confirmed crew, including stars like Amy Schumer, Lenny Kravitz, Demi Lovato, Lady Gaga, Idina Menzel, Tony Goldwyn, Deborah Messing, America Ferrera, Jason Collins, Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, and Eva Longoria, according to BillyPenn.com and The Week. But will he be jamming along to Janelle Monae’s headlining performance on the first night of the Convention, and sticking around all the way until the end? Is it possible, that Bryan Cranston is already here?
There is no word yet on when this deep-voiced dreamboat is set to arrive in the city. Cranston’s only official DNC appearance so far is scheduled for the last day of the convention, when he will be attending a luncheon hosted by Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi, according to BillyPenn.com. Cranston has yet to confirm if his plans for this event will include chatting up Fergie over bottomless mimosas or picking the crusts off finger sandwiches with George Takei. However, for Philadelphian Cranston-fans like me, one thing is for sure: No matter what happens in November, the DNC has pretty much already won.
