Ariana Grande's Bangs Seem Like The Real Deal

by Katharine McEntee

Ariana Grande’s high pony phase has seemed to reach an end, as the 23-year-old songstress was recently spotted with a dramatically different ‘do. In an Instagram posted on Jul. 24, Grande can be seen sporting a new set of bangs. While Ariana Grande’s new bangs look pretty darn real, I can't help but wonder whether the singer and actor is pulling a Kylie Jenner.

In 2014, Grande explained the reason behind her signature hairstyle in an Instagram snap. Us Weekly reported that she wrote, “I wear it in a ponytail because my actual hair is so broken that it looks absolutely ratchet and absurd when I let it down […] So as annoying as it is for y'all to have to look at the same hairstyle all the time, it's all that works for now (AND I'm comfortable for the first time in years).”

Seeing that it has been two years since Grande’s broken hair woes, it is very likely that the singer’s mane health has improved, and that the pony is in fact her new signature look. Unfortunately, Grande has yet to comment on whether the new fringe is real, so for now all we can do is hope that the banging new hairstyle sticks around longer than one of Jenner's hair transformations.

While it's no surprise that fringe is in — Selena Gomez debuted new bangs in Jun. 2016 and Bella Hadid rocked a pair of side bangs at the Cannes Film Festival — it is a pleasant surprise to see Grande go for the trend.

If you are thinking about making the cut, scroll down to see her latest ‘do as well as the other celebrities who have joined in on the trend.

1. Ariana Grande

Ariana Grande didn't take the bang trend lightly, as she opted for blunt fringe just below her eyebrows. While it is a major change for the star, I think it might just be the perfect update to her signature ponytail.

2. Selena Gomez

Just when I thought Gomez's hair couldn't get any better, the stylists at Nine Zero One proved me wrong. Her honey-colored highlights and wispy bangs took the singer's look to a whole other level.

3. Emma Roberts

Emma Roberts' take on the bang trend is a '60s middle part fringe reminiscent of Sienna Miller's aesthetic.

4. Bella Hadid

While Hadid's bangs didn't last long, she rocked the fringe look at the Cannes Film Festival in May 2016.

5. Georgia May Jagger

In true rocker fashion, model Georgia May Jagger opted for piece-y bangs and wavy tresses.

6. Miley Cyrus

Cyrus went all out in the hairstyle department with platinum locks and a straight-across fringe.

7. Gigi Hadid

Gigi Hadid's bangs at the 2016 MTV Movie Awards made a major statement, but unfortunately they were only temporary.

Say goodbye to platinum locks and hello to fringe, as it looks like bangs are the new celeb-approved hairstyle. I wonder who will be sporting the look next?
