If you weren't a part of the Puma Fur Slide chaos, then consider yourself lucky. So many people were eager to get these slip-ons in their lives that the site instantly crashed when the restock went live. I give major props to all the people that had enough patience to stick this relaunch out. Those who did were rewarded with the $80 shoe of their choice.
It didn't surprise me one bit that the Puma site crashed for the grey Slide's release. Every single time that a new Rihanna shoe comes out, the site has some technical difficulties keeping up with all the online shoppers. This time was no different. If you can believe it, the website started having problems as soon as the clock struck 10 a.m. ET — aka as soon as people were able to buy the shoe.
Previous to the restock, there was a countdown on the site for the grey Fur Slides on the company's site. As soon as that countdown hit zero, things went a little bit crazy. While the UK site was off to a good start, I was getting error messages all over the U.S. page. First it didn't show the shoe on the site at all. Then you had to search it yourself, but got an error message when you clicked on them. Finally, after almost 10 minutes, they got things figured out and people started shopping.
While things are still a little bit slow over on Puma.com, they shoes stayed in stock for a pretty long time. Considering that they sold out in just minutes during the first and second restock, this was pretty surprising. As of 10:53 a.m. ET, all the colors are still available on the site, though a couple sizes are gone.
Although the press release said that it would be available at other online retailers, it didn't look like the rest of them restocked at the same time. Urban Outfitters only has size 8.5 and 10.5 in the white slide and ASOS isn't showing them on their site yet.
That means you should probably just head to the Puma site, have some patience, and get them while you still can. Because, let's be honest, these trendy shoes won't be around for long.
