Amy Schumer's Paris Trip Isn't Going Well

by Allyson Koerner

You know when you're looking forward to a trip and you just hope nothing comes along that will ruin it for you? Well, Amy Schumer just had the worst outcome of that happen. While vacationing in Paris with her boyfriend, Ben Hanisch, Amy Schumer got food poisoning. Alongside a photo of herself and Hanisch in bed, she announced on Instagram Monday, "Thanks for everything Paris! Except the food poisoning. #nooooooooooo #balmain #nyfw." It's unclear if Hanisch also suffered from food poisoning, but he does kind of look a little worse for wear in the photo. Though, maybe he's just making that face thanks to Schumer taking a photo with a really bright flash. Update: In two Instagram posts shared Monday by the comedian, Schumer revealed she was hospitalized, but did not say if it was due to food poisoning.

Whatever the case, can you imagine exploring France and then getting sick with food poisoning? That would be the worst. However, like she always seems to do, Schumer managed to turn a horrible situation into a light-hearted one. By no means would I want to post a photo of myself in the midst of dealing with food poisoning — that wouldn't be pretty —but Schumer could care less. The fact that she can make a joke out of it shows you that the Inside Amy Schumer star can make a positive out of anything negative.

If that isn't proof enough, Schumer shared another Instagram Monday, but this time it was a video of her attempting to eat. "Trying to eat chicken broth post puke fest," she wrote alongside the IG. I can't go any further without pointing out the huge ladle she used to eat the broth. That would make feel better, too. Oh, and what about the view of the Eiffel Tower from her hotel room window? Yeah, I'd be able to keep on trucking after food poisoning too if I had that view.

Like her first food poisoning photo, Schumer's "post puke fest" video further shows how she is trying to look at the sunny side of life, even though she's not feeling 100 percent. Would you expect anything less from her? That is exact spirit of The Girl with the Lower Back Tattoo author.

So, just like Schumer, I'm going to turn all of this into something positive and say at least she and Hanisch managed to have some fun (as seen above) before the puking began, right?
