'RHONY' May Return For Season 9 Looking Different

by Alaina Urquhart-White

Season 8 of Bravo's Real Housewives of New York was absolutely an explosive one. To be honest, I thought that it started off a little dull, but, luckily for fans, it took a turn for the dramatic a few episodes in. Between Bethenny's mystery illness, LuAnn's engagement issues, and Jules' conflict with her husband, things have really come to a head during the three-part reunion. But after all is said and done, when will Season 9 of Real Housewives of New York premiere?

Well, it's not been announced yet when exactly it will premiere, because it hasn't been officially renewed yet. But, since there'd be no reason for Bravo to cancel such a popular, drama-filled show, it's likely that it will be back somewhere around midway through 2017. The last two seasons premiered in April and others have premiered mostly in March or, at the latest, in June.

Of course, it probably depends on when casting is solidified, because those contracts have to be signed before filming can begin. One person who discussed not returning? Bethenny Frankel, who told Entertainment Tonight in August that she was "distancing herself from the show." She continued, "It was a long year … I'm glad that the audience is enjoying [the show], but I left it behind.” But, that doesn't mean Bravo doesn't want her to stay. According to Page Six, Bethenny was allegedly offered upwards of $1.5 million to return. It would be hard to turn down that kind of cash, personally. Bustle reached out to Bravo for comment, but has not yet received a response.

E! News also reported that it doesn't look like Jules is going to be back, and I honestly can't say I blame her. She took quite an emotional beating this season having her weight, her marriage, and her parenting skills constantly questioned. Now that she and her husband Michael are going through a somewhat messy and very public divorce, it makes sense she wants to bow out of the spotlight and deal with her personal life.

It will be interesting to see who Bravo gets to replace Jules and whether we will see other cast members like Bethenny return. So much has happened, and the fighting spilled over into life after the cameras turned off this season. I think we are in for a wild Season 9, whenever it returns.
