Benedict Cumberbatch & Sophie Hunter Skipped The 2016 Emmys Red Carpet
The 2016 Emmy's red carpet was full of everyone's favorite silver screen celebrities. From the cast of Game of Thrones to Amy Poehler and Tina Fey, it seemed as though everyone made an appearance. However, Benedict Cumberbatch and Sophie Hunter skipped the 2016 Emmys red carpet and didn't walk alongside those other fab celebrities.
Unfortunately, the British directing and acting duo didn't grace us with their gorgeous selves on the red carpet — though, they were probably being gorgeous elsewhere. The sophisticated, classically elegant duo stun on every red carpet they walk, but on Sunday, fans of both Hunter and Cumberbatch were disappointed when the husband and wife pair failed to show, especially considering that Cumberbatch was nominated for an Emmy.
On Sunday, Cumberbatch was nominated for his role in Sherlock: The Abominable Bride, the Victorian-era Christmas episode of the mega-successful mini-series Sherlock for which Cumberbatch won an Emmy in 2014. While many seemed surprised at his nomination, fans of the actor and the Sherlock series were not. Despite the unexpected nomination, Cumberbatch and his talented wife, director and performer Sophie Hunter, couldn't be seen at the 2016 Emmy Awards, not on the red carpet and not inside the award show either.
Considering how gorgeous these two always look together, it was truly a disappointment.
They are always the epitome of class.
Here's hoping fans get more of the pair gazing into one another's eyes soon.
