Yaas! Kat Von D's Shade & Light Contour Palette is getting two very critical updates. One is immediate and the other will require some patience. First up? The refillable palette and pans, which launch Tuesday, Sept. 27 via the Sephora site. Kat Von D-evotees are stoked that the brand has made this popular palette refillable. Next? Kat Von D is expanding the Shade & Light Contour Palette color range, adding more hues. How many new Shade & Light color options are coming? And when is the Kat Von D adding more color options to Shade & Light?
The new Shade & Light colors are coming next year, according to an Instagram post on the brand's official feed. The brand did not reveal exactly how many additional shades will be introduced in 2017 or the exact date the new colors will be available to purchase. You have to wait, but it'll be worth it! KVD Beauty rarely, if ever, disappoints.
Upgrading and creating new shades makes this product even more useable. This is the second time in recent history that the brand has added color selections for a face product. Kat Von D Beauty recently expanded its best-selling Lock-It Foundation to a whopping 13 additional shades, including white. It's obvious the brand wants to be as inclusive as possible and to make itself available to a wider base of customers.

Here is the official Instagram post confirming that new shades are on the way. Woo hoo. Right now, the palette includes six matte shades. They add depth, highlight, and shadow to your face, creating angles and definition.
This video shows how the refillable palettes work and also reminds us that new shades are forthcoming.

According to the current product description on the official KVD Beauty site, the three contour and highlight pairs are arranged by undertone, offering cool, neutral, and warm shades. However, you can use all the shades, regardless of your undertone. I am excited to see how the new shades will be factored into the Shade & Light Palette. Perhaps she will be incorporating the new Lock-It Foundation hues into this palette. Will the texture remain the same? Will the S&LCP be split by undertone?
It's time to wait and see, Kat Von D-evotees.
