Brad Pitt Issues New Statement On His Divorce & Says He's Focused On His "Family Situation"
In the wake of the sad Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt divorce news, the latter party has opted to bow out of a screening of one of his projects. As Us Weekly reports, Brad Pitt issued a statement on Tuesday to explain why he will not be at an upcoming screening for Terrence Malick film Voyage of Time . Here is what Pitt told Us Weekly:
[Filmmaker] Terrence [Malick]'s Voyage of Time is an incredibly beautiful and unique experimental IMAX film for children and families chronicling the birth of time. I'm very grateful to be part of such a fascinating and educational project, but I'm currently focused on my family situation and don't want to distract attention away from this extraordinary film, which I encourage everyone to see.
Pitt is one of the two narrators of Voyage of Time, a project the visionary director has been working on for decades. The screening of the documentary will take place on Wednesday.
This is not the first time the The Big Short actor has commented on the dissolution of his and Jolie's marriage. Shortly after the announcement of their split went public last Tuesday, Pitt released the following statement to People:
I am very saddened by this, but what matters most now is the well being of our kids. I kindly ask the press to give them the space they deserve during this challenging time.
Jolie's camp shared the following statement with E! News:
Angelina will always do what's in the best interest of taking care of her family. She appreciates everyone's understanding of their need for privacy at this time.
