Rihanna's Fenty Puma SS 2017 Collection Is Amazing

by Melanie Richtman

Rihanna is the coolest person on the planet. Which means her Spring 2017 Fenty x Puma collection is inherently one of the coolest runway shows on the planet. This season, Rihanna showed her Fenty x Puma collection in Paris at the historic Hotel Salomon de Rothschild, where models showed off her designs amid a Dior-inspired, salon style backdrop.

As Puma is an athletic brand, Rihanna stuck to sporty streetwear, but with a very luxurious twist. Rihanna told Vogue.com that her Spring 2017 Fenty x Puma collection was inspired by Marie Antoinette and what she "might wear to the gym or play tennis in," which really explains the luxe, brocade fabrics, pastel colors and repeated use of corsets. And don't forget the "Puma" printed fans that are truly fit for a queen.

Rihanna also had to incorporate menswear into the collection, which was shown on Anwar Hadid, the little bro of supermodels Gigi and Bella Hadid, and said that she turned to herself for inspiration, since she frequently wears men's clothing. It really doesn't get more badass than that.

Last season, when Rihanna released her now infamous furry slides and Puma creepers, people went nuts, so of course she had to step up her shoe game this time around, featuring a creeper-style boot, lace up pumps and ever-trendy mules.
