Are The MAC Magnetic Spellbinder Shadows Limited Edition? There's Good News & Bad News
Everyone's heard it: if you love something, let it go. If it comes back to you, it's yours forever. The most bittersweet of all Instagram quotations, it's very literally true for most MAC collections — so if you're wondering if MAC's magnetic Spellbinder Shadows are limited edition, I have some bad news.
The collection that has the Internet buzzing about the wonders of magnets isn't here to stay, unfortunately. Magnetized and charged to stick to primer without the mess of likewise high-voltage loose pigment, you'll want to snap up the Spellbinder Shadows from Oct. 20 to Dec. 1, before which they'll disappear for good. Which is too bad, because with the staying powder of a cream and the convenience of, well, a magnet, the Spellbinder shadows are a totally unique entry into the eyeshadow category. And, as anyone who's navigated the eyeshadow fall-out common in our currently palette-obsessed beauty world can attest, it's necessary.
So, here's hoping the technology goes against the odds and pulls a surprise restock someday post-December. Until then, the saving grace is that the Spellbinders are sticking around for the most beauty-happy time of the year — the holidays. Priced at $22 each, they're definitely on the upper edges of stocking stuffer territory, but with treat yo' self sentiment abounding, I think it's worth the price tag. It's the most magical time of the year! Plus, it's science. That's a combo I can get behind.
Intrigued? Here's a look at some of the high-intensity, jewel-toned shades.
M.A.C. Spellbinder Shadow in Higher Power
"Higher Power" is a gleaming take on purple, wearable even as it's high-impact.
M.A.C. Spellbinder Shadow in Retrograde
Steely "Retrograde" would be perfect for an oil-slick smokey eye with dewy skin.
M.A.C. Spellbinder Shadow in Blue Karma
And Blue Karma is tempting me to give sapphire blue another try. My last attempt was in 2003, so the time is ripe to see what the future has to offer.
