One Major 'Bachelor' Date Has Been Revealed

by Amy Roberts

If you've ever found yourself watching The Bachelor and thinking, this is great and all but what it really needs is the romantic addition of a classic boy band, then you, my friend, are in luck. As you're likely already aware, Nick Viall's season of The Bachelor is currently being filmed (and boy, does that two time Bachelorette runner-up deserve to finally find himself some love), and it looks as though he treated this season's remaining ladies to one helluva show. US Weekly is reporting that a Bachelor group date happened at a Backstreet Boys concert in Los Angeles, with the Season 21 contestants being serenaded by, and even dancing with, the boy band on stage alongside Viall. I am so jealous right now, folks. Like, how come I never get to enjoy dates like this?

The performance took place at the iHeartRadio Theater show in promotion of the BSB's upcoming Planet Hollywood residency in Las Vegas, and it sounded like it was full of surprises. As well as Viall and one particular lucky lady being romanced on stage by an acapella rendition of "I Want It That Way," the band is also said to have serenaded Season 19 contestants Ashley Iaconetti and Becca Tilley onstage to the tune of "Get Another Boyfriend." And if you're currently thinking that your envy-levels might have just reached peak mass, then prepare yourself because there's more.

I don't know about you, but I've always dreamt of being able to perform the dance routine from "Everybody (Backstreet's Back)" live on stage with the Backstreet Boys, and these Bachelor contestants actually got to live that dream. Returning to the stage for an encore, Viall and the ladies from The Bachelor joined the band onstage to perform the iconic chorus choreography (the BSB even changed the lyrics from "Backstreet's back, all right!" to "Nick is back, all right!." (Because they're absolute sweethearts, that's why). I'm so jealous right now that I can barely function.

But, by all accounts, it might not have been quite as fun as it sounds, as A.J. Mclean (aka, the man I thought I was going to grow up to marry one day, but definitely haven't), adorably told US Weekly on Monday: "I felt really bad for the girls because we only gave them 30 minutes to learn that whole dance routine, and the fear of God came over all of those girls' faces. They were such, such, such troupers."

Yikes. I guess there is a lot of pressure there. I mean, for starters you're on a group date, which gives you the added scare factor of competitive dating. But, secondly, part of that date involves learning a dance routine in half an hour and performing it next to an iconic boy band that you (probably) adore in front of a packed audience. I'm pretty much sweating just envisioning myself attempting even a quarter of that.

Still, the experience sounds like it was a memorable one, scary pressure or not. And for those ladies who may find themselves being sent home by Viall without a rose, I'm sure that the BSB experience will more than make up for it. Because, let's face it — being serenaded by, and getting to dance alongside, those men is possibly all the true love that a person needs.
