Kourtney Kardashian Gives A Weird Update On Kim

In the weeks since her robbery in France, Kim Kardashian has gone completely radio silent — on social media and in public. That means her family has been responsible for any kind of update on how she's doing, and while it can't be fun to be Kim's spokesperson, it's kind of necessary when something so traumatizing happens to someone so famous. People will want to know how she's doing, so it's not shocking that questions about Kim's condition have become standard anytime one of her sisters does an interview... and sometimes, it ends really awkwardly. During a recent appearance on Australian talk show Today Extra, Kourtney Kardashian gave a weird update on Kim. Like, really weird. Bizarre, even.

OK, it wasn't the content of the update itself that was strange; Kourtney gave an answer similar to the one Khloé gave when she was on The Ellen Show. It was more how the update was delivered. At first, it seemed normal — the hosts, David Campbell and Sonia Kruger, even expressed their sympathy for Kim before asking how she was doing. And then? Things got weird. There was silence, and then Kourtney started talking to someone off screen, followed by more silence. I could not possibly describe it adequately with words alone, so just watch this:

If you've watched Keeping Up With The Kardashians, you already know that Kourtney gets a little nervous before she's making an appearance in front of an audience or on TV. Maybe it was a combination of nerves, worrying about her sister, and having no idea how to answer that question. Maybe the real Kourtney was abducted by aliens. Not sure which, but something was going on here.

And in case you're wondering, here's the answer Kourtney eventually gave after a commercial break, per Us Weekly:

"She’s not doing great. I think we’re all really still shaken up, and I just think she has a big, supportive family. And I know that all of the traumatic things that we’ve been through, we get through them together as a family, and that’s what family is all about."

Every update on Kim so far has been pretty negative, but I'm hoping that one of these days, we'll hear she's doing better. If anyone could survive something as horrifying as this and come out from it even more amazing, it's Kim, and I look forward to when she decides to rejoin the social media world.
