'PLL' Is Getting A Finale Tell-All Aftershow

by Courtney Lindley

Pretty Little Liars followers and fans, get ready to take a big, deep breath. The moment you've been waiting six long years for will finally happen. On Wednesday, Freeform announced that a Pretty Little Liars finale aftershow will take place after the series' final episode, and, in this hour-long aftershow, questions will be answered. At last. Per Deadline, the network has confirmed that main cast members Troian Bellisario, Ashley Benson, Lucy Hale, Shay Mitchell, and Sasha Pieterse, along with executive producer and creator I. Marlene King, will be a part of the shindig.

The aftershow will be an "unbarred and uncensored tell-all" that "promises discuss all of the series’ secrets, behind-the-scenes insights, and top moments." In other words, it's the episode of Pretty Little Liars that's been a long time coming. According to The Wrap, the aftershow will also be “a retrospective celebration of the past seven seasons and... a way for the #PLLSquad to say goodbye to the beloved drama.” Earlier this year, and after much speculation, Freeform announced that Pretty Little Liars would end after Season 7. The last 10 episodes are set to premiere in April of next year, and, once they do, there's no more need for secrets. So, everything will be addressed in this finale aftershow. I mean, hopefully... Right?

Things have officially wrapped on Pretty Little Liars production, and, as heartbreaking as saying goodbye to the characters will be, fans are beyond ready to discover A.D.'s identity — and all 7 million other questions that have since remained unanswered.

We don't have enough information about it just yet, but, at the very least, it's fair to say that the aftershow will be an emotional one... and that's something. Closure, for one. On Wednesday, via Cosmopolitan's instagram, King penned a tear-jerking note about series end. She wrote,

“When I call ‘cut’ on the very last scene, all five PLLs will be in the shot. Tears will be spilled, gifts will be exchanged, and final memories will be made. The most meaningful gift, however, is that we call ourselves ‘PLL Family’ because that is how much we mean to each other.”

She wrapped up with some thoughts on how social media has brought the show's supporters together, and ended things with an appropriate "as this chapter ends, to my ‘PLL’ family all over the world, I won’t say good-bye, I’ll say, ‘See you soon, b*tches.'”

Unfortunately, not even an hourlong aftershow will ease the pain of saying good-bye — or, I'm sorry, saying see you you soon, b*tches — because nothing can replace the insane, roller coaster storytelling of Pretty Little Liars. But, hey, it's worth a shot to have all the answers finally on the table.
