Tuesday, Nov. 8, aka Election Day, has been a whirlwind of emotions. Whether you support Donald Trump or Hillary Clinton, you have to admit that the results of the 2016 presidential race have been quite surprising. I mean, did anyone really expect Trump do so well? Maybe I'm being a bit biased, but I'm sure many will agree with me there, right? Whatever the case, you just might be in need of something to make you feel better, so here are some shows to watch on Netflix on Nov. 9 if you need a reason to smile.
The following list includes some great TV comedies, feel-good movies, and other selections that could be the medicine you need to cure whatever kind of fatigue or hangover you have after election night. All elections are a bit stressful, but this one in particular was even more so. I mean, the entire presidential campaign has been so emotional and frustrating, so of course results night would be exactly the same.
With that said, get comfy on your couch, put on those sweats, grab all the junk food you can, crack open your favorite drink, and get ready to marathon some shows. Let's face it, sometimes Netflix is the cure you really need when it comes to relaxing a little.
1. Gilmore Girls
If anyone can turn that frown upside down it's Lorelai, Rory, and the town of Stars Hollow.
2. Friends
These just might the group of friends you need come on Wednesday.
3. Parks and Recreation
Maybe Leslie Knope can restore your faith in humanity?
4. 10 Things I Hate About You
This one's great because you can express frustration, feel empowered by Julia Stiles' badass character, and smile at Heath Ledger.
5. Grease
A musical might be what you need. Sing out those emotions!
6. Jane the Virgin
Gina Rodriguez is just delightful and so is the entire series. Trust me, you will be smiling after the first episode.
7. Love Actually
"Love actually is all around." Need I say more?
8. Master of None
Allow Aziz Ansari to school you on a few things — and make you laugh out loud.
Here's hoping on of these Netflix suggestions lighten the mood at least a little bit.
