Kanye West's Hospital Stay Could Be Short
If anyone could inject a bit more craziness into the end of the year, it would definitely be definitely be Yeezy, but it's not for the reason you'd think. Kanye West was hospitalized on Monday and is spending time at the Ronald Reagan UCLA Medical Center, citing stress and exhaustion. This follows a series of erratic behaviors and a sudden cancelation of 21 dates of the Saint Pablo Tour. And, with reports coming in that he's allegedly been placed on psychiatric hold, fans have to wonder, how long will West stay in the hospital? Right now, West is being kept for "further assessment," and could possibly be released within the day if he checks out fine... but there are so many stress factors that could keep him there.
So what could've contributed to this hospitalization? Well, nobody can deny that West has been under a lot of stress in the past few months, not only because of his tour. Back in October there was the "family emergency" that sparked West to leave a Queens concert mid-set and went on to make international headlines: when wife Kim Kardashian was held at gunpoint and robbed in a Paris hotel. No doubt the media firestorm surrounding that incident alone would tamper with the hip-hop superstar. But, now, it seems that he's in another sort family emergency following the results of the 2016 election. That is, he and BFFs Jay Z and Beyoncé are on the outs.
Following Kardashian's robbery, Kanye called out Jay Z for not being there for the couple. "Don’t call me after the robbery and say, ‘How you feelin’?’ You wanna know how I’m feeling? Come by the house… Bring the kids by the house, like we’re brothers," West said during an October 19 concert in Seattle. And it was only Friday that West had another meltdown targeting Beyoncé, talking about how he was "hurt" about certain incidents that occurred at the MTV Video Music Awards. "Beyoncé, I was hurt. I went down seven years on behalf of you… I am putting my career, my life, my public standing at risk when I talk to y’all like this," West said during a Sacramento set, before leaving the concert entirely.
And, of course, nothing solidifies Kanye's craziness like his announcement that he would've voted for Trump at a San Jose stop. The claim has since been met with literal boos and backlash, which would definitely shake anyone, to say the least.
West has never been known for keeping quiet or, you know, maintaining peaceful relations, so, to some skeptics, these outbursts don't really seem out of character. But, on a purely human level, there's substantial evidence that shows he's clearly he's going through a lot, enough to bring on some sort of breakdown. So, while Kanye is usually best when he's full Kanye, he might want to take a breather for the time being. I'll keep my fingers crossed for a quick recovery, because he needs to rest up if he's going to run a country one day.
