Why You Need Too Faced's Sweet Peach Collection

For the average person, the word "peach" often conjures images of the fuzzy pink fruit or fresh, flaky cobbler. But for a beauty junkie, a whole new picture is attached to the term: Too Faced's Sweet Peach Eyeshadow Palette. The insanely popular product, which launched in March 2017, sold out almost instantly. Restock after restock proved that makeup fanatics couldn't get enough of its warm, gorgeous shades and sugary scent. This prompted the company to create the Too Faced Sweet Peach Collection — an entire range of products embracing the fruity treat — and it launched on Dec. 14. But is it worth it? I'm taking a closer look at each and every single product so you can decide for yourself.

Too Faced has been teasing its extended range of Sweet Peach products for months now, leaving fans waiting in anticipation. It wasn't until recently, however, that we learned what exactly would be in the full collection. You can imagine how stoked followers were when they found out that there'd be more than just a palette. If you loved the matte and metallic shades of the eyeshadows, you're going to die over the rest of the line, ladies and gentlemen. In addition to the internet-breaking palette, shoppers can now get their "Sweet Peach" on with a peach-infused highlighting palette, a peach-infused blush (a grander, peachier version of their famous "Papa Don't Peach"), and a creamy peach oil lip gloss that comes in eight different shades.

And yes, you read that right — they all are infused with peach-essence, meaning you won't need any perfume when you're done getting glam with this sweet-smelling collection!

But do these peachy products actually live up to the hype? I had the chance to attend the Too Faced Sweet Peach launch party in Los Angeles earlier this month and had the opportunity to try out the collection. I've been using the products over the last two weeks and here's what I think about each of them.

1. Sweet Peach Eye Shadow Collection

I probably don't need to introduce you to this palette, but for the sake of this story, let's reacquaint ourselves with the product that launched an entire collection. Too Faced's Sweet Peach Eye Shadow Palette features 18 different shades ranging from matte creams to bronzy browns, and of course, plenty of peachy pinks in-between. Not only is there a wide range of shadows, but they also come in matte, shimmer, and metallic formulas. Last but not least, the peachy scent is undeniable — you can smell it immediately upon opening it.

The Review

Full disclosure: I got my hands on the palette when it launched in March, and in total honesty, I rarely use any other eyeshadows. This palette has it all for me — the perfect range of colors to create any eye look imaginable. I tend to gravitate towards neutral shades, like golds and browns, and this palette has plenty of that, with colors like "Luscious," a pearl peach champagne and "Bellini," a gilded peach — two of my favorites. At the same time, it also offers some more exciting colors like "Candied Peach," a matte coral with violet shimmer and "Bless Her Heart," a golden green moss, which encourages me to experiment with bolder looks.

Sure, this palette is perfect for spring and summer, but I have been using it nonstop during the fall and holiday season. The palette will cost you $49, which puts each individual shade at $2.72 —a steal, in my opinion.

2. Sweet Peach Glow Highlighting Palette

Too Faced Sweet Peach Glow, $42, Sephora

This is the product that Too Faced enthusiasts have been waiting for. There's no doubt that 2016 was the year of the highlight, so it made complete sense that Too Faced decided to add an illuminating palette to the family. It consists of a blush, bronzer, and illuminator, all of which are meant to be combined to "give your skin the appearance of being bathed in the most beautiful peachy golden light." Sold!

The Review:

If you're a fan of shimmery, golden illuminators, this palette is for you. However, this isn't for beauty mavens who like to rock either a dewy or matte highlight or contour. There is a lot of shimmer and sparkle going on with the blush, bronzer, and highlighter, which makes it perfect for recreating a summer glow, sans the sun or summer! It's not unnatural, by any means, but it definitely delivers a more radiant glow than other blushes and bronzers I've used. I've received many compliments from various people since wearing the palette, which is always a good sign that a product is worth it, no?

3. Papa Don't Peach

Papa Don't Peach, $30, Sephora

This is the moment fans have been waiting for — the return of one of Too Faced's most legendary products, but in bigger, better, more peachier form. Co-founder Jerrod Blandino decided to bring back this cult-classic from the archives for this particular collection and infuse it with peach essence. It's the same blush that's in the highlighting palette, which means it's got lots of gorgeous, peachy pink shimmer to it.

The Review

I personally love this blush. It gives me a really natural, healthy pink glow, but with a touch of shimmer — sort of like if you were standing on the beach and the sparkling ocean reflected off your sun-kissed face. That's exactly the kind of warm, golden radiance this blush delivers. I'm fairly tan and found that a little goes a long way. If you're fairer-skinned, you won't need to use much to make your cheeks pop. If you're darker skinned, this blush will add a nice subtle bronze to your skin. Papa Don't Peach is definitely a must-have for warmer months, but, like I said earlier, is also perfect if you're trying to fake a tan in the winter.

4. Sweet Peach Creamy Peach Oil Lip Gloss

Sweet Peach Creamy Peach Oil Lip Gloss, $19, Sephora

Last, but certainly not least, Too Faced gave fans the gift of a creamy, moisturizing lip gloss they're calling a lip oil. That's because it's made with coconut oil, vitamin E, and of course, peach-infused essence — all good-for-your-skin-and-lips ingredients. It comes in eight shades, ranging from "Peach Fuzz," a soft, peachy nude to "Tickle-Me-Peach," a more vibrant, watermelon pink.

The Review

(I'm wearing "Tickle-Me-Peach" in this photo)

This isn't your typical lip gloss, folks. When they call it a lip oil, they mean it — it goes on very creamy, like a gloss, but slick, like an oil. The best part? It's not sticky, something I hate about other lip gloss formulas. You won't have to worry about your hair sticking to your lips while walking from your car to the office! The color is more pigmented than your typical lip gloss, too, but it's still pretty sheer and shiny. It feels nice and hydrating on the lips, but you'll definitely have to reapply after coffee or lunch — it's not long-lasting like Too Faced's Melted Matte Lipsticks.

The smell and flavor of the peach isn't too intoxicating, but it's definitely there. I also really like the applicator, though it's a bit long, making it rather difficult for precise application or users with smaller lips. Overall, a solid gloss for day to day. Grab them now to wear all spring and summer-long!

The Final Verdict

If you're a loyal follower of Too Faced, a fan of bronze, sun-kissed glows, or a lover of all things peach, you need to run — not walk — to grab your credit card and shop this entire collection. There's no doubt it will sell out quick. Lucky for you, you can purchase the entire Too Faced Sweet Peach Collection on TooFaced.com (on Dec. 14), Sephora (on Dec. 15), Ulta Beauty (on Dec. 16), Macy's, and possibly other retailers.

There are plenty of places for you to stock up on Sweet Peach palettes and creamy lip oils, but my advice? Act fast. While the entire collection is permanent, there's no telling when the next restock will be once they sell out!
