Miley Lands A Mag Cover She Didn't Want
Miley Cyrus is on the cover of the May issue of Elle, but she's also on the cover of another popular magazine and this one was published without her approval. Miley Cyrus is on the cover of Seventeen and reportedly the magazine did not have the go ahead from Cyrus or her team. But Seventeen just had to have their Miley, so they printed the cover with a stock photo and a caption that reads, "100% Confident Miley! The Brave Way She's Winning Over Everyone — Even Her Haters!" The inside of the magazine contains a write-around in lieu of an actual new interview which was also not approved by Cyrus.
Women's Wear Daily spoke with a source close to Cyrus who says, "She's very, very selective when it comes to magazine covers. Miley declined Seventeen and denied being a part of it, completely." Elle and Seventeen are both owned by Hearst Magazines and it's no surprise that with her pick of the two, Cyrus went with Elle. Her whole deal is doing everything she can to prove that she's not a kid anymore. She's a grown ass woman that can shake her grown ass on stage in leotards and white cowboy boots, okay?! Being on the cover of Seventeen magazine goes against all of that. Just look at the happy-go-lucky photo they chose:
And now look at this emotionally riveting one from Elle:
Way to kill her vibe, Seventeen. If she doesn't want to be featured, then listen to her wishes. Oh yeah... money is involved and Cyrus sells magazines. Nevermind.
A spokesperson for Seventeen said,
Seventeen readers love Miley Cyrus, and we cover her every chance we get. She ranked high on the March issue’s Girl Power List. Our readers asked for more, so we responded as quickly as possible. Miley’s currently on tour promoting 'Bangerz,' so what better time than now to celebrate her and give our readers what they want.
She's "currently on tour" really means, "She's currently on tour so she might not notice that we put her on the cover against her wishes."
Looky here, Seventeen. Miley Cyrus is not a kid anymore and she doesn't want to be a part of your shenanigans. Does she have to print out giant banner about it?!
'Cause she already did that too.
